We call to have buried utility lines located in your yard prior to digging.
This is a free service through the Utility Notification Center of Colorado. Colorado’s One Call Law requires “call before you dig”.
Utility locators need access to your yard – no locked gates or dogs - in order to determine if there are buried cables and to determine where the cables are buried. They will mark utility lines with paint and flags, and leave a sketch. Buried lines may be eighteen inches on either side of the marks.
We are responsible for obtaining the utility locates, and we are financially responsible in the event that any public utility lines are damaged. The utility locators mark public lines, which generally include power lines, gas lines, phone and cable TV lines. They do not locate any private lines.
